Jewellery Care & Material Guide
At Becca Prado, our pieces are crafted using high-quality materials, including 925 Sterling Silver, 14K Gold-Finished Sterling Silver.
Oxidisation
It’s natural for jewellery to oxidise over time, especially when exposed to moisture, chemicals, or skin oils. This is not a manufacturing fault but a normal reaction to the environment.
Factors that may cause oxidisation include:

Natural skin oils

Humidity or moisture in the air

Heat exposure

Sulfur gases in the environment
Sterling Silver may darken gradually, but this can be easily restored with a silver polishing cloth. To slow down the oxidisation process, avoid perfumes, fake tan, and other harsh chemicals. Please note that oxidisation due to improper care is not considered a fault.
Gold-Finished Jewellery Care
Gold-plated or gold-finished jewellery may gradually fade with wear. To keep the plating looking its best:

While water-safe, avoid swimming, as chlorine may damage the finish.

Keep away from cleaning products, sanitiser, moisturisers, fake tan, sweat, and perfume.

Store in Becca Prado boxes when not being worn.
Failure to follow care instructions may cause faster fading.
Cubic Zirconia Stone Care
Cubic Zirconia (CZ) stones are durable, but they can appear cloudy if exposed to:

Excessive heat

Lotions, creams, or soaps

Harsh chemicals
Although our rings are safe in water, we recommend keeping CZ stones away from chemicals and wiping off any residue from makeup or skincare products to preserve their sparkle.
